#PHSfit Career of the Day: Cook
Working as a cook allows a person to combine many different aspects of
career types. A chef needs impeccable timing to ensure that their food is
presented to the diner at its peak temperature and texture. This requires
understanding the physical and chemical properties of all of the dish's
components and their ingredients, working as a team with your fellow line cooks
and the executive chef. Training is available at many colleges, and will
require apprenticeships and several years working as a line cook.
